My favorite thing to do was call you at work and get you laughing until you had to hang up or risk getting in trouble.
So many times you begged me to stop because you couldn’t breathe from laughing so hard.
I miss that most of all.
I also recall your friendly face at the library writing program, and your wickedly insightful comments afterward.
The way you narrated your cats’ lives for me so many times, making me laugh.
Our many lunches together – which now number as too few and far between.
The way in which you always asked after my dogs and were interested in hearing my own tales of their antics.
I count you as among my best friends, Ms. Vickie, now and forever.
You disappeared so quickly from our lives.
And I never got to hug you goodbye that one last time.
