“The pen is the tongue of the mind.”
Miguel de Cervantes
Had a busy week…well, it’s been a busy month overall. I announced the launch of my new business, Abundance Creativity & Life Coaching, which has been several years in the making. Have done a lot of internal searching for answers to what my next steps will be once I leave the government cubicle farm (and that final date is still vague, as I must await legal documents to arrive here from my birth state of Michigan), and knew deep down that I am destined to teach and guide others in their creative endeavors. It’s what I’m good at, and more importantly, it’s what I thoroughly enjoy.
In order to get certified – which process I’ve begun – I must learn everything about the creative workings of the human mind and apply them in my own work. Luckily, that hasn’t been difficult, for the more I gain in knowledge, the more creative I become.
In this spirit, I’ve scrapped the original first 40 chapters of my WIP and begun with a massive rewrite. Why? Because some information has been made available to me via my creative muse, or whatever name you want to give the process, and now I can see the end of the novel clearly, and the path the characters will need to travel to get there.
Completed the first two chapters yesterday afternoon in a flurry of new writing, and in reading them over, find them to be pretty solid.
Don’t you love the feeling that things are moving into a beneficial conjunction with one another, that feeling of excitement when you see the culmination of your planning, passion, and drive?
That’s what I’m feeling at this moment.
